Julia Byrd
At PowerBridgeNY, she manages the day-to-day operations, including the application and awardee processes. She works closely with the teams and soon-to-be startup companies teaching them the Lean LaunchPad methodology and ensuring they are working toward identifying their initial target market. Julia is also an instructor for the New York City Regional Innovation Node (NYCRIN) regional I-Corps program where she guides university teams in identifying scalable business models for their technologies. She uses the same methodology to teach Hacking for Energy (H4E), a graduate-level class originally piloted at Columbia University. H4E identifies real-world problems proposed by industry players who work with interdisciplinary student teams to identify and build a solution while simultaneously identifying a business model to commercialize the solution.
