Membrane-free Electrolyzers & Systems for Conversion of Carbon Dioxide from Waste-to-Energy Plants into Sustainable Aviation Fuel
The primary objectives of this project are to (i) develop impurity-tolerant membrane-free electrolyzers for the production of syngas from bicarbonate electrolysis and (ii) use systems-level analysis to understand the economic viability of incorporating these electrolyzers into a carbontech pathway in which carbon dioxide (CO2) obtained from the flue gas of waste-to-energy plants is converted into sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
Funding Cycle: 2023-2024
Focus Area(s): Waste-to-Energy (WTE), Carbon Capture and Conversion, Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF)
