Concept Design and Assessment of Solar-thermal/electric Hybrid Low-temperature Direct Air Carbon Capture

This team seeks to address this gap by advancing the carbontech market through a novel integration of Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology powered by solar energy. Their core technology revolves around a hybrid DAC system, utilizing both 100% solar power and a solar-thermal/electric configuration. With solar thermal's superior efficiency (70-80%) in converting solar energy to heat compared to solar PV's efficiency (around 20%), this project will develop and evaluate a conceptual design for a hybrid DAC system. This system will leverage commercially viable low-temperature and low- pressure DAC absorbent technologies.
